Installing DataConnect
This section provides information to install DataConnect Studio IDE as an RCP and as a plug-in to Eclipse. Studio IDE is a Rich Client Platform (RCP) application that is based on the Eclipse framework and provides a rich, desktop Integrated Design Environment (IDE). Developers who already use an Eclipse IDE can install the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-ins on Windows.
Typically, the available DataConnect packages are installed in one of the following scenarios:
• IDE (contains Eclipse, Design Studio, and Engine)
• Engine
• Site Plug-in and Engine
Note: If you install the DataConnect Site Plug-in and the Runtime Engine on the same system, then make sure that the versions for both the plug-in and the engine including the build number is same to avoid any compatibility issues with functionality.
