GRANT/REVOKE of DBEvents
The Enterprise Access Oracle gateway uses the Oracle DBMS_ALERT package to support database events. Oracle does not support granting and revoking permissions on specific alerts. However, with Oracle you can control access to the entire DBMS_ALERT package. Because of this restriction, the Oracle gateway scans GRANT and REVOKE statements for the REGISTER and RAISE keywords. If the REGISTER or RAISE keywords are found in either GRANT or REVOKE statements, the statements are not passed to Oracle, and the gateway returns a status indicating that the statement was successfully executed.
