Network Utilities
The GUI-based Ingres Network Utility (ingnet) or command-line based netutil is used on each client to create and maintain virtual node definitions that contain the login and connection data used to connect to a server. The ingnet utility is available on Windows platforms; netutil is available on all platforms.
The Ingres Network Utility and netutil allow you to perform the following tasks:
View virtual node definitions
Add, alter, and drop virtual node definitions
Refresh and test virtual node definitions
Connect to virtual nodes or gateways, and open one of two types of data administration windows where you can work with databases or test SQL queries
Note:  How to access and use the Ingres Network Utility (ingnet) is explained in the following sections. See the Ingres Command Reference Guide for information on using the netutil program.
