How It Works
DataCloud Backup works as follows:
1. The DataCloud Backup Service runs in the public cloud.
2. You download the DataCloud Backup Agent and place it on the machine where your Ingres instance resides.
3. You register the agent with the backup service by providing your credentials and other required information.
4. You start the agent.
The agent then continuously monitors your Ingres instance and automatically uploads backup files to the cloud.
5. You sign in to the DataCloud Backup Console on the Web to monitor backup status and other information.
6. To restore a database, you download the relevant backup from the cloud and perform the restore locally in your Ingres instance. To restore configuration files, you download them and copy them to the appropriate location in your Ingres instance.
