RAID File System
Vector can store data in multiple file systems by using multiple locations. However, if you want performance benefits for a single column or if you do not want to manually specify multiple locations for each table, RAID is still strongly recommended.
Linux:
On Linux various file systems are known to work, including EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, and XFS.
Notes:
There is a known data corruption bug in the EXT4 implementation used in Linux kernel versions older than 2.6.32. Do not use the EXT4 file system for your data storage if you run with an old version of the Linux kernel.
On EXT2 and EXT3 the size of a single file is limited to 2 TB. See https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1532.
