Monitoring Multiple Database Instances with Actian Monitor
The default configuration when Actian Monitor installs is one-to-one. One docker/podman compose stack per instance. However, multiple configurations are possible, including sending telemetry to the Grafana Cloud or another Open Telemetry consumer, or sending telemetry from multiple instances to a single dashboard.
You can send telemetry from multiple instances to a single locally hosted Grafana dashboard using a single Prometheus instance.
Note:  A dedicated installation mode for additional instances is under active development and will be documented separately once available. In this release, setting up an additional instance-only monitor still requires the manual configuration described in Configure a Shared Monitoring Stack for Additional Database Instances.
Note:  Do not install a second full Actian Monitor stack on the same machine. See the warning in Prerequisites. Additional instances are trimmed down rather than installed as a second full stack to avoid conflicts with fixed container names and published ports.
