Manually Configuring EMA
EMA is based on Nagios and uses the standard Nagios configuration system for describing hosts and services to be monitored.
EMA uses the object-oriented Nagios configuration by having individual configuration files that map to Ingres architectural components. These components are:
• A host system
• An Ingres installation
• Generic Ingres services
• Service checks specific to host and installation
Nagios supports multiple inheritance; EMA uses this feature extensively.
