Basic Data Types
The three basic types of spatial data are points, lines, and polygons. Each builds, topologically, on the other. Points are the vertices of lines, and lines close to create polygons. Spatial data is defined by a single point or several points strung together.
There are also higher level data types called multi feature and collections, but they are not covered in this tutorial.
