Allow Access on Systems Using Shadow Passwords
If your operating system has shadow passwords and you are not using the Actian X installation password authorization, you must install the password validation program to allow access to the networked DBMS Server.
To install the password validation program
1. Log in as root.
2. Run $II_SYSTEM/ingres/bin/mkvalidpw.
The mkvalidpw script installs the password authorization program used by the DBMS Server.
