TERM (Linux)
TERM is the terminal description for the terminal upon which you are executing Linux programs. The TERM environment variable is not used directly, but it becomes the default for TERM_INGRES, if TERM_INGRES is not explicitly set. TERM is used by Linux programs like vi, which can be called as subsystems from Actian X programs.
