# Inbox

The **Inbox** is a persistent, paginated feed in Explorer that collects two kinds of items:

1. **Scheduled insight alerts** — messages your AI Analyst sends after a scheduled run finds something worth reporting
2. **Shared chats and artifacts** — conversations or saved outputs that a teammate has shared with you

Everything lands in one place, so you don't need to check individual schedules or wait for an email.

## Accessing the Inbox

The Inbox is available in the Explorer sidebar. An unread badge on the icon shows how many new items have arrived since you last opened it.

## Scheduled Insight Alerts

When a [Scheduled Insight](scheduled-insights.md) run finds something noteworthy, the analyst creates an inbox item with:

- A **title** summarising the finding
- A **message** with the analyst's explanation
- A **link** to the chart or table behind the finding, where relevant

If nothing worth reporting was found, no item is created — the run stays silent.

    If email notifications are enabled on a schedule, you will also receive an email for each alert. You can toggle this per schedule in the schedule detail panel.


## Shared Chats and Artifacts

When a teammate shares a chat or an artifact with your organisation (or with you specifically), an inbox item appears notifying you it exists and linking directly to it.

## Reading Items

Items are listed newest-first. Clicking an item marks it as read and, if the item has a link, opens the relevant chart, table, report, or conversation.

Unread items are highlighted. The sidebar badge count decreases as you read items.
