Installation Packages
You can install any of the following DataConnect packages based on your requirement:
• DataConnect Studio IDE: This package contains Eclipse, the DataConnect Studio, and the DataConnect Runtime Engine together. All of these are installed at the same time. This package is useful if you:
• Do not have Eclipse already installed on your system
• Want to create, edit, or run DataConnect artifacts (maps, processes, and so on) using the DataConnect Studio IDE
• DataConnect Eclipse Plug-in for Studio IDE: This package will install the DataConnect Studio IDE only. You can install this package when you want to add the DataConnect Studio IDE to your existing Eclipse environment. The DataConnect Engine is not installed as part of the Eclipse Plug-in for Studio IDE. You must install it separately.
Note: If you are installing the DataConnect Eclipse Plug-in for Studio IDE and the Runtime Engine on the same machine, then make sure that the build versions for both products are the same to avoid any compatibility issues.
• DataConnect Runtime Engine: This package must be installed on any system that can run DataConnect artifacts or jobs. It executes the maps and processes that was created with the Studio IDE.
