Installing DataConnect Studio IDE Site Plug-in for Eclipse on Windows
Pre-requisites:
Eclipse:
Mars 4.5.2 for DataConnect 11.1.1
Oxygen 4.7.1 or later for DataConnect 11.2.1
Eclipse 2018-09 for DataConnect 11.4
Eclipse 2018-12 for DataConnect 11.5
com.actian.dcui.site_xxxx.zip and di-standalone-engine-64-bit-xxxx-win.exe where the xxxx is a version number that must match. You can download these two files from esd.actian.com.
DataConnect v11 license file (.slc)
Note:  DataConnect embeds Open JDK 8u232.
To install DataConnect Studio IDE as a site plug-in, do the following:

Note:  It is important that you run eclipse with the environment variables that are required by the engine. For information about the environment variables, see Invoking Runtime Engine Using CLI.

Installing DataConnect Studio IDE Site Plug-in on Windows
Before installing the DataConnect Studio Site Plug-in, make sure you have installed the Runtime Engine. For more information, see Installing DataConnect Runtime Engine on Windows.
To install the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in:
1. Launch eclipse.
2. From the Help menu, click Install New Software…
3. Click Add.
The Add Repository dialog box is displayed.
4. In Name, type DataConnect and click Archive.
5. Navigate to the com.actian.dcui.site_xxxx.zip file, click Open, and then click OK.
6. Select Actian check box (all the other are defaults) and click Next.
The installation details are displayed. It must display DataConnect 11.X.X.xx.
7. Click Next.
8. Accept the EULA and click Finish.
9. When information about unsigned content is displayed, click OK.
10. Restart Eclipse when the prompt appears.
Post DataConnect Studio IDE Site Plug-in Installation Tasks on Windows
After installing the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in (and opening the DataConnect perspective):
Click Help > About DataConnect and verify that the license information is displayed. If not, you a red error message is displayed under Browse).
If the error starts with .ini, it means any of the following:
You did not close Eclipse while setting the environment variables. Close it and reopen.
You did not install the engine
You did not set the environment variables that allow the UI to know which engine to use.
If the error indicates that the license file is invalid or missing, click Browse and specify a valid DataConnect v11 license.
Click on the X in the right corner to close the About DataConnect dialog box.
If you do not see a DataConnect perspective icon in the top right corner (Cloud with 4 dot ring), click Options > Perspective > Open Perspective > Other and click DataConnect Perspective.
If the DataConnect perspective icon is in the top right corner, click on it to work in the DataConnect perspective.
Upgrading DataConnect Studio IDE Site Plug-in on Windows
Before upgrading the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in, make sure that you have closed all the perspectives. If you do not do this, then after uninstalling and reinstalling the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in, duplicate perspectives appear with angular brackets. For example, <DataConnect> and <Process>. If this occurs, do the following:
1. In Eclipse, go to Window > Preferences.
2. Select General > Perspective.
The Available perspectives list is displayed on the right-side.
3. Select the custom perspective that has angular brackets such as <DataConnect>.
4. Click Delete.
To install another version of the DataConnect Studio IDE Site plug-in when there is a version already installed:
1. Uninstall DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in:
a. In Eclipse, click Help > About Eclipse.
b. Click Installation Details.
c. In the list, select DataConnect and click Uninstall.
d. Click Yes to restart.
e. In Eclipse, go to Window > Preferences > Install/Update > Available Software Sites. If you see DataConnect, select it and click Remove.
2. Uninstall the Runtime Engine.
Note:  The UI cannot check for the minimum version of the engine that is required. Hence, make sure that the Runtime Engine version and the site plug-in versions are the same.
3. Close Eclipse.
Steps 4 and 5 are required only if you uninstall or reinstall the same version as eclipse may not clean up some files.
4. Go to Eclipse > plugins folder and remove the following:
com.actian jars
Three di-xxx jars
jcore.jar
Three Jackson jars
5. Go to <users folder>/.eclipse/org.eclipse.oomph.p2 and delete the cache folder.
6. Install and configure the Runtime Engine and the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in.
7. Perform the post installation tasks.
Note:  If you switch versions and point to the same workspace, you must first click Help > About DataConnect to point to valid v11 license. If you see a big red x when loading maps, processes, and so on, it means you do not have a valid license or UI is not able to find the license.
