Editing Field Library Files
You can view or edit the values for Fields and Data Types in a field library file (.dfl.xml). You can also add a field, data type, and components for the data type.
Note: The field library file is used only with the HL7 type schema file.
To edit the field library file:
1. In Project Explorer, double-click a .dfl.xml file that you want to edit.
The field library file opens in a separate tab.
2. If the code value library file is not linked, it displays the Configuration tab. Do the following:
a. In the Code Value Library section, click Browse, and specify the code value library file (.dcl.xml).
b. You can also use a macro to specify the library files. To do this, right-click in the text box and click Paste Macro. The Paste Macro window is displayed. Select the required macro and click OK.
c. Click Refresh. The "Code Value Library refreshed" message is displayed.
The code values are updated from the library file in the Field Library tab.
d. Click the Field Library tab. Expand any field node to view the fields.
3. If the code value library file is already linked, it displays the Field Library tab with the associated fields and data types. In the tree view, click the required field node or a data type.
The properties and the values are displayed on the right-pane.
4. Edit the value for the required property.
5. Optionally, you can link a code value library file. To do this:
a. Click the Configuration tab.
b. In the Code Value Library section, click Browse, and specify the code value library file (.dcl.xml).
c. Click Refresh.
6. To add a field, right-click within the Fields folder in the tree view and click Insert Field.
The field is inserted after the last field node in the tree view.
7. To add a data type, right-click within the DataTypes folder in the tree view and click Insert DataType.
The data type is inserted after the last data type in the tree view.
8. To add a component, right-click a data type for which you want to add a component and click Insert Component.
9. Click Save to save the changes.
