Managing Workspaces, Projects, and Integration Artifacts
This topic provides information about managing workspaces, projects, and integration artifacts.
Workspaces serve as repositories for storing and managing DataConnect projects and their associated content. Each workspace contains three different types of resources—projects, folders, and files. Projects can be created from Project Explorer and may contain folders, files, and design artifacts created within DataConnect Studio IDE (maps, schemas, processes, and so on). You can define multiple workspaces, and create multiple Projects within those Workspaces, to help efficiently organize your collateral. In addition to having multiple projects, each project can be stored in a different location in a file system. You can also create multiple workspaces and easily switch workspaces. The flexibility provided with Workspaces, Projects, and Folders enables you to organize your files as per your requirement.
Project Explorer provides a hierarchical view of all the projects and artifacts in the current workspace. From Project Explorer, you can perform the following actions:
Create, edit, delete, duplicate, open, close, rename, import, or export projects
Create artifacts in projects such as maps, processes, EZscripts, and schemas
Edit, delete, duplicate, import, or export artifacts in existing projects
The structure of a project is:
Project Name
0-N folders
0-N design artifact files
Repository Explorer displays the Integration Artifacts folders in the selected project.
To view the artifacts in Repository Explorer:
1. Click on the Repository Explorer tab.in the workspace.
2. Click on a project folder.
3. View the available artifacts in the Repository Documents grid shown in the View
