Validating and Running Map
After mapping the fields, events, and so on, you must validate the map before running the transformation. The engine will automatically validate the map before running it. To validate the map, click /download/attachments/24975559/Map_Validate.png?version=1&modificationDate=1487965305265&api=v2. If the validation is successful, a message is displayed. Else, the Problem tab appears and shows the list of errors and warnings. Also, a message is displayed indicating that the map is invalid.
If an XML map has no defined events, then when you run or validate the map, a default event is automatically added based on the selected connector.
If a JSON map has a single source connector and single target connector and the target has a single record type and no defined events, then when you run or validate the map, a default event is automatically added based on the selected connector.
To view the added event, go to Mapping tab > Advanced view > All Events (in Source grid). Also, you can edit the default event using the Edit option. For more information, see Editing Event. However, this is not applicable for intermediate and multimode targets.
Note:  /download/attachments/24975559/Map_Validate.png?version=1&modificationDate=1487965305265&api=v2 is disabled if the target fields are not defined or if the target connection is modified.
After validating the map, you can run the map. To do this, click /download/attachments/24975559/Map_Run.png?version=1&modificationDate=1487965305249&api=v2.
You can run only one map at a time. The /download/attachments/24975559/Map_Run.png?version=1&modificationDate=1487965305249&api=v2 icon is disabled until the run completes.
Also, if two editors are open (such as map and process) and if a map is running, you cannot run a process until the map run is completed.
The Map Execution dialog box displays the progress of the map execution. If the file is not long, then this dialog box displays only for a few seconds. Click Run in background to run the map in the background. Click Details to view the execution details. At any time, click /download/attachments/24975559/Abort_Run.png?version=1&modificationDate=1487965305327&api=v2 to stop the execution.
After the run is successful, the Results tab and the Logs tab display the following information:
Results tab:
Transformation events
Conversion and Sort events
Any errors (if any)
Logs tab
Error Code
You can search the Results and the Log records using the Search text box. The searched text is highlighted.
You can sort the log entries by clicking on the Date column header.
The target file displays all the data from the source file.
Note: /download/attachments/24975559/Map_Run.png?version=1&modificationDate=1487965305249&api=v2 is enabled when:
At least one target field is mapped.
Source and target connections are set up and the target has an external schema with mapped fields.
The /download/attachments/24975559/Map_Run.png?version=1&modificationDate=1487965305249&api=v2 is disabled when the target schema is not present.
