Importing from File System
This topic provides information on how to import (copy) artifacts and folders from file system to an existing v12 project. It is recommended to use this method to import single artifacts that must be placed in the same folder as another artifact. For example, a script file in the same folder as the map.
To import from a file system:
1. Select a project to where you want to import the artifact and then click File > Import.
The Import window is displayed.
2. Expand General, click File System, and click Next.
The File System window is displayed.
3. In From directory, click Browse and specify the project from which you want to import an artifact (process, map, EZscript, or schema).
The project folders are displayed in the text box on the left and the associated artifacts are displayed on the right.
4. Select the required folders/files you want to import.
Click Select All to select all the folders and files. To deselect, click Deselect All.
5. (Optional) Filter the file type to restrict the import to only certain file types. To do this:
a. Click Filter Types.
The Select Types window is displayed.
b. Select the required file type(s) or click Select All to choose all the file types. To deselect, clear the check box or click Deselect All.
c. If the required file type is unavailable, then type the file extension in the Other Extensions text box.
d. Click OK to save and close the Select Types window.
6. In Into folder, the selected project in step 1 is displayed automatically. If you want to change this, then click Browse, select another project to where you want to import the artifact(s).
7. Select the following options if required:
• Overwrite existing resources without warning: If not selected, a prompt is not displayed that indicates an existing resource will be overwritten during import. If this option is selected, then a prompt is displayed before an existing resource is overwritten. You can either overwrite the resource, skip it, or cancel the import.
• Create top-level folder: Create a folder at the project level and import the selected files into this folder.
8. Click Finish.
The selected artifact(s) are imported into the project and it is displayed in Project Explorer.
