Upgrading DataConnect Studio IDE Site Plug-in on Windows
Before upgrading the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in, make sure that you have closed all perspectives. If you do not do this, after uninstalling and reinstalling the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in, duplicate perspectives will appear with angle brackets. For example, <DataConnect> and <Process>. If this occurs, do the following:
1. In Eclipse, go to Window, Preferences.
2. Select General, Perspective.
The Available perspectives list is displayed on the right-side.
3. Select the custom perspective that has angle brackets such as <DataConnect>.
4. Click Delete.
To install another version of the DataConnect Studio IDE Site plug-in when there is a version already installed
1. Uninstall DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in:
a. In Eclipse, click Help, About Eclipse.
b. Click Installation Details.
c. From the list, select DataConnect and click Uninstall.
d. Click Yes to restart.
e. In Eclipse, go to Window, Preferences, Install/Update, Available Software Sites. If you see DataConnect, select it and click Remove.
2. Uninstall the Runtime Engine.
Note:  The UI cannot check for the minimum version of the engine that is required. Hence, ensure that the Runtime Engine version and the site plug-in versions are the same.
3. Close Eclipse.
Steps 4 and 5 are required only if you uninstall or reinstall the same version since Eclipse may not clean up some files.
4. Go to the Eclipse, plugins folder and remove the following:
com.actian jars
Three di-xxx jars
jcore.jar
Three Jackson jars
5. Go to <users folder>/.eclipse/org.eclipse.oomph.p2 and delete the cache folder.
6. Install and configure the Runtime Engine and the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in.
7. Perform the post-installation tasks.
Note:  If you switch versions and point to the same workspace, you must first click Help, About DataConnect to point to a valid current license. If you see a big red X when loading maps, processes, and so on, it means you do not have a valid license or the UI is not able to find the license.
