Actian DataConnect License File Information
Actian DataConnect license files are initially sent to the Ship To recipient we have on file for the account. The license files are sent in a .zip package that also contains a manifest file, which describes each license and its associated product. The product names indicate the usage and installation environment for the license.
Production engine licenses have a product name containing "Engine" or "ENG" and are applied to installations of the Actian DataConnect Runtime Engine or Integration Manager in the production runtime environment. A separate license file is applied to each installation of the software and allows the maximum number of concurrent engine instances indicated.
Development licenses have a product name containing "Dev User" or some obvious variant. Those licenses are applied to installations of Actian DataConnect Studio for users who design integrations. In some cases, you will receive a single license for multiple users that you may copy for each user up to the number you are entitled.
Non-production engine licenses have a product name containing "Dev/Test" and are applied to installations of the Actian DataConnect Runtime Engine used exclusively for non-production situations such as simulating runtime environment prior to promotion, disaster recovery, or cold fail over.
Note:  Enterprise Licenses - production license(s) are also available for use in Development and Non-production scenarios so may be copied to those environments within your enterprise as required.
