Creating a Map Using New Map Wizard
You can create a map using the new map wizard. In this wizard, you define a source, an optional join and a target, map the required fields, and specify the table operations (for multimode targets). At any point, you can exit from the wizard and the information you have provided until that point will be available in the Map Editor.
Using the new Map wizard, you can perform the following:
Create a simple map (single source to single target)
Create a join map (two sources joined with results mapped to single target)
Create partial map (partially filling in any of the wizard pages)
Note:  If the source is hierarchical and the target is a new file and also supports hierarchy, DataConnect looks for the first record type in the source that has no hierarchy (all data fields) and builds a target schema to bring that records data. You can choose a different schema (external or manual) but this is done automatically. Currently, you cannot choose the source data record and DataConnect picks the first record type.
The following are the limitations of the new map wizard:
Does not work for source or join data that needs an external schema. A warning is displayed.
Join requires the source and join to be single record type.
There are 10 steps involved in creating a map using the Map Wizard. Some of these steps are not needed depending on selections in prior wizard pages. The steps are:
1. Specify map file name.
2. Define source and optional join source.
3. Confirm source data (an optional join data).
4. Configure the join (type, unique rows, and keys). This step is skipped if not joining.
5. Define target. If the target supports tables, then specify all connection parts and properties except the table. If the target does not support tables, then specify all the connection parts and properties.
6. If target supports tables, then choose one or more tables to write the output (more than one table is available for multimode connectors only). This is not applicable for a few connectors (example, non-database connector such as ASCII).
7. Choose target schema.
8. Set multimode operations, objects and keys. This step is skipped if the target is not multimode.
9. Set target field mapping.
10. Summary of record events that will be added. Select the table initialization options (only for Multimode connectors)
