Error during execute: Can only validate document with single functional group

This error message is displayed for EDI 999 Validator 1.1.0, when the document has multiple functional groups.

Cause: Indicates that more than one functional group (GS/GE pair, for example) was detected.

Solution: A functional group is a collection of related transactions that are grouped together for processing and transmission as a unit. An EDI document can contain one or more functional groups, each of which will have its own functional group header (GS segment) and functional group trailer (GE segment).

The EDI 999 transaction set is used to provide an acknowledgment for each functional group within an EDI document. Therefore, a single EDI document can contain multiple EDI 999 transaction sets, each acknowledging a different functional group.

Select only those documents that have one functional group. If you expect an incoming document will contain multiple functional groups, you must use the function group splitter or iterator before the validation component.
