Welcome Page Links
Note: Actian DataConnect is an Eclipse application and current versions only support Microsoft Edge browser so if you do not select Microsoft Edge as the default browser, some help links may not work. See
Setting Browser Preferences to set Microsoft Edge as the default browser.
The Welcome page is displayed when you install and launch Actian DataConnect Studio for the first time. You can access this page from Help > Welcome. It includes the following links:
• Go to Workspace: Closes the Welcome Screen and displays your workspace.
• Create new Project: Opens the New DataConnect Project dialog from where you can create a new project.
• Create new Process: Opens the New Process Wizard from where you can create a new process.
• Create new Map: Opens the New Map Wizard from where you can create a new map.
• Import Projects: Opens the Import dialog from where you can choose from the various import options.
• Getting Started: Provides information to launch the Actian DataConnect Studio. Also, provides description of the key UI components.
• Templates: Provides information about the design templates that are included with the Actian DataConnect Studio.
• Video Tutorials: Displays the Actian Academy page.
• New in DataConnect: Displays the new features and enhancements for a particular release.
• Best Practices: Displays DataConnect best practices.
• Troubleshooting: Displays details on how to troubleshoot DataConnect.
• Online Help Documentation: Opens the Actian Documentation Portal.
• Support, Training, and Services: Displays Actian's Support Services page.
• Actian Community: Displays Actian's Community and Customer Portal.
• Downloads: Displays Actian's Customer Downloads page.
To close the Welcome tab, click the Close icon on the Welcome tab.
