Creating a Macro by Selecting a Value
To create a macro by selecting a value:
1. Select an existing text in a macro enabled text box.
2. Right-click, and then select Create Macro.
The Create New Macro dialog appears with the Macro Value field pre-populated with the selected value.
Note: The Create Macro menu option is displayed only for a macro enabled text box or drop down for a map, process or profile parts and properties.
3. In the Create New Macro dialog, specify the macro details:
• Macro Set Name: You can select an existing macro set or type a new name. This is the macro set where the new macro will be added.
If you enter a new macro set name, that does not exist then on clicking
Create it will be created and stored in the configured macro definition file and after that the new macro will be added to this new macro set. For more information about macro definition file, see
Macro Definition Files.
• Macro Name: Type the new macro name. It should be unique.
• Macro Value: The macro value that is stored as a text string in the macro. This field is pre-populated
• Encrypted: Select this to encrypt the macro. Macro values are displayed in plain text by default. When encryption is enabled, this macro value changes to a series of asterisks.
If you select the encrypted option then the Macro Value field will mask the entered value.
• Description: Type a brief description for the macro.
Description field is disabled (not supported) for macros that belong to LOCAL macro set.
4. Click Create to save the macro set and macro details.
