Creating a Map Within Process Designer
Note:  When creating a new map and the target has no schema, DataConnect attempts to create one using the source schema. This is a straightforward process with a single record source to a single record target. The process differs with a multi-record (or hierarchical) source to multi-record target. In this case, DataConnect locates the first “flat” source record type (a record where none of the fields are themselves a record) and uses it to generate a basic schema for the target. Users can then build out the schema.
To create a map within the Process Designer:
1. Add a new Transformation step or double-click an existing Transformation step on the canvas to open the step properties tab.
2. Click the Transformation icon’s drop-down menu () and select New.
The New Map Wizard is displayed.
3. In the Map File Name text box, type a name for the map and click Finish.
The map opens in the Map Editor.
4. Add source, target, mapping, and configuration settings from here and then validate, run, and click File > Save All.
5. Select the Process tab and click .
6. Click Process > Run Process to run your process.
Note:  You must save the map and then click Refresh on the Process Designer to upload all the map information.
