Target File Mapping Scenarios
The following table provides information about the target file mapping when you click Match by Name or Match by Position.
Target File Fields
Match By Name
Match By Position
Target file has a single field.
The Expression column populates the appropriate field name (matching with the source name).
The Expression column populates the appropriate field name (matching with the source position).
Target field name is edited manually. For example, change the expression for a field.
The expression field should display the changed value. The Expression column replaces the field name with the appropriate field name (matching with source).
 
Target field names are in random order.

Mapping is done only for the fields that match the source field name. The fields that do not match remain unmapped.
