Reorder Fields
To reorder fields:
1. Open an existing profile and select the Rules tab.
Note: The Data Profiler
.dp artifact is not supported in DataConnect 12.5 and therefore cannot be opened for editing. It has been replaced by a
.dq (Data Quality) file and a
.dq.rtc (Runtime Config) file. Please recreate the profile as
.dq and
.dq.rtc artifacts. You can right-click on the
.dp file to view profile content in a JSON editor. Also note that some rules have been deprecated or replaced with new rules. For more information, see
Deprecated Rules.
2. Select the field that you want to move.
3. Click the up and down buttons (

) to move the field up or down. You can also use drag and drop to reorder fields.
Note:
- One or both the up/down buttons are disabled if moving the field up or down is not permitted.
- Drag-and-drop is not allowed in the MultiFieldRules section. Attempting to drag a field into MultiFieldRules displays a “NO DROP” icon and has no effect.
- Drag-and-drop within OutputFields: Fields can be reordered using drag-and-drop, replicating the behavior of the up/down buttons. When a field is moved, any associated rules are moved with it. When a field is dragged within OutputFields, it is inserted below the target field.
- Drag-and-drop from OutputFields to NonOutputFields: If a field has associated rules, both the field and its rules are moved (same behavior as deletion). If the field has no rules, it is simply deleted. When dragging a field from OutputFields to NonOutputFields, it is inserted below the target field.
- Drag-and-drop from NonOutputFields to OutputFields: The field and any associated rules are moved. When dragging a field from NonOutputFields to OutputFields, it is inserted above the target field.
4. Save the profile.
