Overview of the KNIME SDK Installation Process
The overall process for installing the KNIME SDK is outlined below. Details on each step are provided in later sections.
1. Download the KNIME SDK. Visit the
KNIME downloads website and follow the links to the KNIME Desktop download area.
2. Install the KNIME SDK.
3. Install the DataFlow extensions to the KNIME SDK. The update site for the DataFlow SDK extensions is given in the steps below.
4. Create a new DataFlow project.
5. Develop a new DataFlow operator.
6. Create a KNIME node for the DataFlow operator.
7. Package the custom KNIME extensions for installation in a KNIME instance.
You do not need a license file to develop new extensions with the SDK. However, when you package and install an extension in a DataFlow environment, a license file must be in place for the extension to execute successfully. For more information about licenses, see
