Networks
DataFlow does not encrypt data going “over the wire.” DataFlow is generally run within two environments: on a single-server system or within a Hadoop cluster. Within a Hadoop cluster, all network communication of DataFlow is within the context of the cluster, meaning between machines with the cluster. Within this environment, DataFlow provides compression of the data being transmitted. Encryption is not used within this environment because the networks for Hadoop clusters are generally self-contained and isolated from external networks.
