Director Client Desktop is designed to work without an Internet connection. However, for the best experience when using Director, we recommend that you have an available Internet connection. Certain functionality, such as the RSS feed, depends entirely on having Internet connectivity.

The RSS feeds are unavailable, so the Latest News tab of the Welcome page is empty.
Hyperlinks open a local browser, but a standard “Server not found” page is displayed.
Director is limited to connecting to and managing Actian database installations on the local machine or networked machines where Director is installed.
