Disconnecting from an Actian Database Installation
Disconnecting disconnects an installation node in the Instance Explorer but leaves it displayed in a “ghosted” condition.
By default, Director displays a confirmation dialog when disconnecting from an installation. This is to prevent users from accidentally disconnecting from an instance and having to reconnect and re-browse to objects.
You can configure Director so that disconnection happens immediately without prompting for confirmation. For more information, see Set Whether to Prompt Before Disconnecting the Instance Explorer.
Before you can disconnect an installation:
The installation must be currently connected.
The installation node or any child node of the installation must be selected in the Instance Explorer.
You can disconnect installations in the following ways:
From the main menu: Connection, Disconnect (see Disconnect from an Actian Database Installation)
From the Instance Explorer toolbar: Disconnect (see Instance Explorer Toolbar)
From an installation node context menu: Disconnect
