Permissions are classified according to the type of objects they affect. Objects whose permissions you may manage include:

• Installations

• Databases

• Tables

• Views

• Procedures

• Sequences

• Events

For these supported objects, you can use Director to perform the following basic operations on permissions:

Grant

Grant any permission allowed for a particular group, role, or user (including the public, which encompasses all current and future users)

View

View all types of object permissions granted to a particular group, role, or user, or view the permissions granted for a particular object type. For more information, see Viewing or Modifying Permissions.

Revoke

Revoke any previously granted permission from an object

Permissions are set and viewed using the Permissions dialog for the relevant object.
