ODBC Access Requirements
To access an ODBC host, the following conditions must be met:
The correct version of the ODBC host interface must be in the PATH.
User logins must be defined to the ODBC host.
Permission must be granted to access each DB2 UDB database.
The ingres user can optionally be made the DBA of the database.
An ODBC Data Source Name (DSN) can be defined for the database. The gateway uses the ODBC DSN or the connection string specified in the GWALIAS entry to access the ODBC host database on the local or remote system.
