How to Debug with the Tracing Facility
The gateway provides a facility that can return trace data from various points in the message stream. This data can be used to debug gateway problems.
Note: Be aware that the tracing facility can cause significant system overhead, both in increased formatting and additional communication traffic. Enable tracing only when it is absolutely necessary to resolve a problem.
You can trace the gateway in one of two ways:
• Trace the gateway server using Configuration-By-Forms (CBF) or Configuration Manager (VCBF). All sessions will generate tracing information.
• Trace on a per gateway session basis using the SQL SET TRACE command.
