Microsoft SQL Server Gateway
The Microsoft SQL Server gateway is accessed through the Microsoft SQL Server ODBC driver. The Microsoft SQL Server driver is responsible for mapping the ODBC SQL data types to the Microsoft SQL Server data types. The gateway is responsible for mapping the ODBC SQL data types into the equivalent Ingres data types. The mapping consists of two parts:
• Client data type mapping to SQL Server data type mapping
• SQL Server data type mapping to client data type mapping
