Installation Prerequisites
Prior to installing the gateways, the following requirements must be met:
• The Gateway System Administrator's account must be created.
You need to create an ingres user who is assigned system administrator rights. This is the account under which you must install the gateways because all gateway catalog tables require ingres ownership.
• The ingres user must have the following user rights:
– Act as part of the operating system
– Access this computer from the network
– Log on as a service
– "Impersonate a Client After Authentication" (SeImpersonatePrivilege) permission (Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows 2003 and later) is required if OS authentication for Microsoft SQL Server is used.
IMPORTANT! Enterprise Access 11 cannot be installed into any unsupported versions of Ingres (see the Readme for supported versions). Enterprise Access 11 cannot be installed into an existing Enterprise Access 3.0 (or earlier) installation as an upgrade; a new installation must be performed. For example, Enterprise Access 3.0 and Enterprise Access 11 could both be installed into separate installations and run in parallel. To replace an existing Enterprise Access installation, the existing installation must be uninstalled first.
Note: See the Readme for additional installation prerequisites and considerations.
