• The Microsoft Windows default network protocol is now tcp_ip. If you upgrade a previous Enterprise Access installation to version 3.0, existing vnodes will be converted from the old wintcp to tcp_ip. If you subsequently create a vnode using the deprecated wintcp protocol, it will continue to use wintcp; however, we recommend that all new vnodes use the tcp_ip driver.

• A new check box was added to the Additional Configuration installer dialog: "Install a read-only ODBC driver." If you select this option, the read-only ODBC driver will be installed instead of the standard ODBC driver. This entry was also added to the response file for silent installation.

• Installation on Microsoft Windows versions with User Account Control (UAC) enabled requires that you use the Ingres Administrator Command Prompt to run administrative tools. If you do not use a Command Prompt with administrative rights, access will be denied.
