Create a Public Database
When you create a database, it is public by default. Any Ingres user in that instance can connect to the database, but can only create or use tables if they have the necessary privileges. The user who creates a database becomes its database administrator.
To create a public database that uses the installation's default locations
Issue this command at the command line:
createdb dbname
For example, the following command creates a Unicode-enabled public database named demodb on the local node in the default locations:
createdb demodb
