For databases with traditional Ingres tables, you can generate database statistics by issuing the optimizedb command at the command line. (For more information, see the Command Reference Guide.) In Director or VDBA, select a database, and then use the Generate Statistics operation.

For databases with X100 tables, you can use the above methods and the following:

• WITH STATISTICS option of the COPY FROM command

• --stats option of the vwload command

• Let the X100 Server do it automatically
