Install the High Availability Option
You must run the Ingres Installation Wizard on both nodes. The Ingres system files must be installed locally on each node; the data files must be on a cluster disk.
Note:  Before installing Ingres on the first node, ensure the Shared cluster disk is owned by the first node by confirming that your first node is listed as the Owner Node in the Failover Cluster Manager.
To install the High Availability Option
1. Install Ingres on the first node.
a. In the Destination Folder page of the Installation Wizard, leave the Installation Location setting set to the local drive of your first node, and set all Database File Locations to locations on the shared cluster disk.
b. On the Transaction Log Configuration page, ensure that the Log Location setting points to a location on the shared cluster disk.
c. On the Ingres Service and Cluster Configuration page, select the Install Ingres High Availability option.
d. Continue through the installation wizard until the installation is complete.
2. In the Failover Cluster Manager, confirm that the owner node is shown as your second cluster node. (To do this in a Windows Server 2016 cluster environment, right-click the first node, and select Pause, Drain Roles to gracefully shut down the first cluster node.)
3. Install Ingres on the second node using the same settings you used on the first node.
In the Failover Cluster Manager, confirm that the Cluster Resource Name (default is Ingres Service (II)) defined on the Ingres Service and Cluster Configuration page of the Ingres Installation Wizard has been added automatically as a Role under Cluster Core Resources.
