Disable Remote Command Server
The Remote Command Server component of Visual DBA must be disabled for the duration of the upgrade. In versions of Ingres prior to 2.6, the Remote Command Server uses the iidbdb database as a communications mechanism, so it will interfere with upgrading.
To disable the Remote Command Server
1. Run Configuration-By-Forms.
2. Locate the row for the Remote Command Server.
3. Note the startup count and record this value for later.
4. Use the EditCount function to set the startup count to zero.
