Database Default Characteristics
By default, a database has the following characteristics when it is created:
• Public – All Ingres users in the instance can connect to the database.
• Unicode-enabled with Normalization Form C – The database can contain columns with Unicode data types such as NCHAR and NVARCHAR.
You can use options to alter this default behavior when creating a database.
