Default Installation Configuration
When run in express mode, which is the default installation mode, Ingres is installed with the default configuration and as user “ingres”. The default configuration is a full installation with all products. The installer does not prompt other than to accept the license.
The install.sh command always requires the -licdir flag.
The IANA time zones are extracted from the package and not downloaded from iana.org.
The Spark Provider is installed but the -sparkdownload flag is required to install Apache Spark.
The default settings are as follows:
II_SYSTEM: /opt/Actian/IngresII
II_INSTALLATION: II
Instance Owner: ingres
Time zone: America-Los_Angeles
Character set: ISO88591
Date alias: ansidate
Licensing notifications are not enabled

Installing Multiple Instances
The express_install program cannot be used to install another instance on the same machine. If you want to install another instance, follow these steps:
1. Rebuild the RPM packages, as described in Rebuild RPM Package with Unique Name.
2. Run the RPM commands, as described in Install Ingres Using RPM Commands.
3. Run the service script to configure the instance, as described in Run iisystemd Specifying II_RESPONSE_FILE.
