Default Installation Configuration
When run in express mode, which is the default installation mode, Ingres is installed with the default configuration and as user “ingres”. The default configuration is a full installation with all products. The installer does not prompt other than to accept the license.
The install.sh command always requires the -licdir flag.
The IANA time zones are extracted from the package and not downloaded from iana.org.
The Spark Provider is installed but the -sparkdownload flag is required to install Apache Spark.
The default settings are as follows:
• II_SYSTEM: /opt/Actian/IngresII
• II_INSTALLATION: II
• Instance Owner: ingres
• Time zone: America-Los_Angeles
• Character set: ISO88591
• Date alias: ansidate
• Licensing notifications are not enabled

Installing Multiple Instances
The express_install program cannot be used to install another instance on the same machine. If you want to install another instance, follow these steps:
