How You Access the Instance on Linux and UNIX
To access your instance, you must run the appropriate environment file that was created during installation.
During installation, two environment files are written to $II_SYSTEM. The name of the environment file depends on the value of II_INSTALLATION.
To run the environment file, issue the following commands.
For bash:
. $II_SYSTEM/.ingXXsh
For tcsh:
. $II_SYSTEM/.ingXXcsh
where XX is the instance ID of the instance.
All users requiring access to the instance and the Ingres tools must have access to the .ingXXsh and .ingXXcsh scripts. The scripts can be copied to a convenient directory of any user.
