• The Data Access Server configuration option ib_encrypt_mode can be used to set the serverside Data Access Server to require (rather than merely enable) encryption from the JDBC and .NET client drivers.

• The client-side default for Ingres Net encryption was changed so that if the Communications (Net) Server is configured to “prefer” or “require” encryption, then the communications will be encrypted. Previously, the client-side default was OFF (no encryption), but could be changed to ON.
