Inline BLOBs
You can specify the number of bytes to allocate for inline space for a blob column. If the blob requires more space than is allocated, it is stored in an extended table. Inline blobs can improve the performance of queries that access blob data because, in some cases, no additional I/O is required to fetch, insert, or update the data.
Configuration parameters can be used to set the default size for the inline space, depending on the data type of the large object.
