How You Can Create a Frame from a Template
In addition to creating your own frames, you can create frames based on pre-existing templates provided with OpenROAD.
To create a frame, you first must be connected to a database and must have created an application. For more information, see
Connect to a Database Through a Connection Profile.
Creating a frame from a template follows these basic steps:
1. Create the frame from a pre-existing template.
2. Complete the template assistant, if any.
3. Run the frame.
To create a calculator frame from a template
1. Select the application in the Applications portlet of the Develop tab.
2. Click the Components portlet header bar to make the portlet active.
3. Click File, New, User Frame.
The Create User Frame dialog appears.
4. Name the frame
5. In the Template list, select calculator.
6. Click Create.
The Calculator Assistant opens.
7. Click Generate.
The user frame for the calculator is displayed, along with the Field Palette, Property Inspector, and the floating menu bar.
To run the frame
With the user frame selected, click Debug, Go on the floating menu bar.
The user frame appears, displaying the calculator.
