Setting the value of read-only (R) attributes and resetting read-write-once (RW1) attributes in the runtime code is not supported. We are reviewing each attribute to determine the rare case of whether it may be set or reset, in which case the documentation will be changed; in all other cases, the setting will be enforced. Such enforcement will be introduced as soon as the next release of OpenROAD.
