If a key is defined in the mapping file, it will activate if assigned to an actual menu item. For example, if the VK_RETURN key is mapped to SK_USER1 and SK_USER1 is not used, it does not change any behavior. On the other hand, if it is assigned to a menu item attached to a frame, it overrides the default behavior and raises that event block.
The same mapping is used for all platforms. There are 104 different key definitions available. OpenROAD has a limit of 59 slots available for speed key definitions that are active for the life of a session.
