How You Perform the Migration
Note:  Back up all data (databases and applications) before starting.
The overall strategy for migrating is as follows:
1. Make a copy of your existing OpenROAD applications that you will want to use with the latest OpenROAD version.
2. Install the new version of OpenROAD in the appropriate environment.
3. Use the new OpenROAD version tools to compile and image the new database that contains the applications.
4. Use the new images to test your application.
The following chapters detail how to create a new OpenROAD environment and how to migration from specific versions of OpenROAD.
