Installing OpenROAD into a New Ingres Instance
We recommend that you install the new OpenROAD version into a new Ingres instance.
Do not use the new version of OpenROAD with a database that contains 4GL applications that a previous version of OpenROAD will continue to use. Instead, set up a separate copy of the 4GL applications for use with the new version of OpenROAD. If you need to maintain the applications for use with a prior version of OpenROAD and the new OpenROAD version, do the following:
1. Perform the maintenance using the previous version of OpenROAD (back to OpenROAD 4.1).
2. Export the applications from that prior version of OpenROAD.
3. Import the applications into the version of OpenROAD
